This year is the first year that “Spring Festival-the social time for China people to celebrate the traditional New Year” has been listed in UNESCO’s representative list of human intangible cultural heritage. The Spring Festival is approaching, and the Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism will jointly launch the “Come to Fuzhou and celebrate the New Year” 2025 Fuzhou Cultural Tourism Month around the “Fu” cultural brand, which will last until February 17. During the Spring Festival Cultural Tourism Month, nearly 1000 cultural tours, cultural activities benefiting the people, cultural performances and cultural exhibitions will be held, with 50 measures to benefit the people and 66 New Year theme routes.

This activity is an important measure taken by Fujian cultural and tourism departments to implement the promotion activities of “Spring Festival Tourism, Leisure for Chinese New Year” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and it is also one of the important activities of Fujian’s cultural and tourism theme year to promote consumption.

On the afternoon of January 17, in the historical and cultural block of Shangxiahang, vendors peddled along the street, tourists dressed in national style and women wearing “three hairpins” shuttled through the city center, and the commercial splendor of Shangxiahang appeared in front of them a hundred years ago.

With the melodious music, children dressed in festive costumes sang the song “Fu” in chorus. After the festive ceremony of lion dance, the door to the blessing of “Fu Street” in the Spring Festival was officially opened.

The cultural elements of “Fu” can be seen everywhere in the neighborhood, and tourists inadvertently came into Fu. The block has also become a stage for ICH performances, with dragon dance performances, “Three Hairpins” exhibitions and other ICH performances coming together.

All kinds of new year’s limited products bring new experiences on the tip of the tongue to citizens and tourists, and the special cultural experiences such as ICH crafts, folk activities and annual flavor interaction make people immersed in them. How to play in Fuzhou in the Spring Festival? On the same day, Fuzhou released and launched the small program “Fuzhou New Year Cultural Tourism Month and New Year Play Map” for the first time, so that tourists can have a “map” in their hands to better plan their trip. The small program is guided by Fuzhou Cultural Tourism Bureau and supported by Fuzhou Survey Institute Co., Ltd., including cultural tourism activities, performances and exhibitions, scenic spots and other services, which brings together the colorful Spring Festival activities in the city and aims to provide citizens with a more intuitive, convenient and efficient guide tool for Spring Festival activities.

The New Year Fair was held in Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural District from January 17 to 19. The Mawei-Mazu Lantern Festival in the same spring was held in Langqi Hongguanghu Park from January 9 to March 2. In 2025, the vocal concert will be held in Jiujitai Concert Hall on January 22. The large-scale fireworks and light show in year of the snake will be held in Zhongzhou Island at 23:59 on January 28. During the Spring Festival Cultural Tourism Month, Fuzhou municipal literary and art troupes, cultural centers, Famous City Companie and poly theatre actively organized and carried out 633 literary and artistic performances including various art forms.
