Meizhou, Guangdong, is making every effort to create the ‘Cultural Capital of East Asia’. The rich cultural and natural heritage including Guangdong Han Opera and Hakka Hill Song have been well inherited here. Many national-level ancient villages, and former residences of celebrities make it known as the ‘capital of Hakka culture’. As one of the three main regional cultures in Lingnan, with the extensive migration of Hakka people overseas in modern times, Hakka culture has also become a characteristic culture shared by people from all over the world.
