Fuzhou has become one of the fastest growing cross-border e-commerce import and export centers in China.

The 5th China Cross-border E-commerce Fair was held in Fuzhou Strait International Convention and Exhibition Center.

On March 18, the 5th China Cross-border E-commerce Fair was grandly opened in Fuzhou. This cross-trade fair is jointly sponsored by Fujian Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export and Foreign Trade Development Bureau of Ministry of Commerce, and jointly undertaken by Fujian Huiyuan International Exhibition Co., Ltd., Fujian Huiyuan Culture Development Group Co., Ltd. and Fujian Miduoduo Network Technology Co., Ltd.

More than 1,800 supply chain and service enterprises from 28 provinces (autonomous regions), municipalities and special administrative regions, as well as the United States, France, Poland and other countries or regions participated in the exhibition, with an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, an increase of 20% over the previous year.

China Cross-border E-commerce Fair has been successfully held in Fuzhou for four consecutive sessions. So, what’s different about this exhibition? The reporter learned that this year, the theme of the exhibition is “upgrading”, and around the themes of “digitalization” and “new globalization”, the exhibition has been upgraded in an all-round way, from the future strategy to the exhibition concept to the content planning, which reproduces the constant pursuit of "innovation every year and bright spots every year" for the whole industry.

One of the import and export centers of cross-border e-commerce

”In 2025, the strongest industrial belt, the strongest platform and the strongest cross-border e-commerce leader all came to Fuzhou.” On the morning of March 18, Chen Danfeng, the chairman of Fujian Huiyuan Culture Development Group Co., Ltd., stood in the opening hall of the 5th China Cross-border E-commerce Fair, feeling deeply. “From Jilin and Liaoning in the northernmost part to Xinjiang and Qinghai in the westernmost part, and Hainan and Guangxi in the southernmost part, many provinces are all elites. With the strongest lineup, Fuzhou position in the world cross-border e-commerce map is more stable.”

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China cross-border electronic commerce Comprehensive Experimental Zone. The reporter learned from the exhibition that at present, Fuzhou (Pingtan) has a cross-border e-commerce comprehensive test area approved by the State Council, opened a special cross-border e-commerce shipping line to Taiwan, and has set up overseas warehouses in more than 30 countries and regions. The total area of overseas warehouses ranks among the top in the country, covering major countries in Europe and America and countries that have jointly built the Belt and Road. It has become one of the fastest-growing cross-border e-commerce import and export centers in China, and many commodities have become best-selling categories in the international market. At the same time, Fuzhou has attracted the attention of many cross-border e-commerce platforms. Leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises such as Alibaba International Station, Amazon Global Store, Google, Cainiao, JD.COM, eBay and TikTok Shop have set up their own layout, and a number of well-known cross-border e-commerce service enterprises have emerged, involving warehousing, logistics, finance and taxation, marketing, software, operation and finance.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, the Blue Book of China Export Cross-border E-commerce Upgrade and Development in 2025 was released, which is also the first blue book jointly released by the cross-border e-commerce industry. According to the Blue Book, the production, processing and export of Fuzhou household daily necessities, Minhou household crafts and Fuzhou injection slippers rank first in the country.

Upgrading the concept of data exhibition

With the help of AI, the foreign trade field has ushered in a new era of intelligent change.

“Cross-border e-commerce focuses on ‘selection plus operation’, and the selection of products is directly related to the competitiveness, profitability and long-term development of enterprises. We use AI technology to select products, which greatly improves efficiency and greatly reduces costs.” Yan Xiaofeng, head of Fuzhou Xinmei Trade, said.

In addition, AI can help complete tasks such as background removal, video generation, intelligent polish, etc. It can also combine multiple product photos to generate product introductions, and select dubbing and background music, saving time and effort.

Deng Hai, founder of Fujian Miduoduo Network Technology Co., Ltd., said that the new concept of “data exhibition” was introduced in this exhibition, bringing new digital experiences to merchants. In the exhibition areas of household daily use, maternal and child toys, beauty cosmetics, hardware auto parts, shoes and bags, furniture and home decoration, gifts and holiday products, new consumer electronics, etc., the “category data display wall” was set up for the first time, which displayed the product comparison data, user pain points and optimization suggestions from Amazon, TikTok and other sources, providing multi-dimensional data support for more accurate product selection and R&D and manufacturing.

This exhibition also innovatively created a new mode of “digital identity+intelligent recommendation+real-time negotiation”, in which exhibitors’ enterprise information and product library were launched simultaneously in the cloud, thus realizing the tagging of exhibitors’ data, supporting buyers to initiate accurate matching requests online, and online small programs were scrolled to match supply and demand, thus breaking the time and space limitations and realizing uninterrupted supply and acquisition throughout the year.

Promote South-South cooperation through cross-border e-commerce

Wu Huiwen from Malaysia has been engaged in the e-commerce industry for 10 years. “In Malaysia, the products of China’s cross-border e-commerce platform are very popular, especially beauty clothes.” Wu Huiwen believes that cross-border e-commerce cooperation between China and Malaysia still has great room for development.

Promoting South-South “big framework” cooperation through cross-border e-commerce is a highlight of this cross-border fair. On the morning of March 18, the South-South Cooperation-Promoting Cross-border E-commerce Development Cooperation and Exchange Conference was successfully held. Promoting South-South “big framework” cooperation through the “small fulcrum” of cross-border e-commerce has become the highlight of the globalization of the exhibition, thus helping China enterprises to explore and cultivate in emerging markets dominated by developing countries with the help of cross-border e-commerce.

In this exhibition, in addition to the 2025 China Cross-border E-commerce Conference, more than 20 theme sharing sessions will be held, and 30 high-standard forums, conferences and docking activities will be held in various conference rooms and forum areas distributed in the exhibition hall, including the cross-border conference of Fujian businessmen in China, the development trend sharing of cross-border e-commerce in Amazon's global stores in 2025, and the refined operation of AI empowerment.

Set up a cross-border e-commerce talent docking area

About 200 companies are recruiting on the spot.

Focusing on the pain points of talents, this exhibition innovatively set up a “cross-border e-commerce talent docking area”, organized about 200 enterprises to carry out recruitment at the exhibition site, invited local universities to present graduates, and set up an “AI cloud recruitment meeting” sub-venue and an AI talent recruitment and intelligence introduction center to jointly promote the accurate matching of talents online and offline.

Following the success of the last exhibition, this exhibition once again invited overseas celebrities to live broadcast and bring goods, and set up a cross-border online celebrity docking area for on-site “one-on-one” negotiations to meet the overseas talent demand of enterprises in overseas localization promotion, and linked the National Overseas Chinese Cross-border E-commerce Ecological Alliance and more than 60 overseas Chinese associations to further promote international talent exchange and cooperation in cross-border e-commerce.
