Jiangxin Island, a New Scenic Spot inFuqing

In these days,visitors to Longjiang Park will find a new scenic spot there. That is the JiangxinIsland.  

The JiangxinIsland is among the two scenic spots built by the Municipal LandscapeAdministration Office of Fuqing this year. The other spot is located in acorner on Section A of South Longjiang Road.

The JiangxinIsland is adjacent to Tianbaobei, an ancient water conservancy project. Theisland covers 1,500 square meters of area, and is a good place to watchTianbaobei and the scenery along both banks of the Longjiang River, and to takea walk.

By virtue of thegeographical advantage of the area, the Municipal Landscape AdministrationOffice of Fuqing constructed the island to be a delicate scenic spot with theconcept of a viewing platform.

Landscape designfor the island emphasizes the elements of water and natural wilderness. A newkind of bougainvillea glabra was introduced into the island for the first time.More gardenias, jacarandas and pink muhly grass were planted onto the island.

The constructionfor the island was launched in October this year, and completed in November.With its fresh and simple paths, little squares and gardens, the island hasattracted many visitors to go sightseeing and take pictures.

The other scenicspot

The area of thescenic spot in the corner on Section A of South Longjiang Road is 2,180 squaremeters. The site was covered by reeds and weeds in the past. In August thisyear, the Municipal Landscape Administration Office of Fuqing decided totransform the area into a street green space.

Beauty by roadside

According to Hou,director of Planning and Construction Service Station of the MunicipalLandscape Administration Office of Fuqing, the government will transform morewaste land in urban area into small gardens, to green the city as well as tosatisfy residents’ need for leisure and entertainment.
