Shizhushan Cableway Opened for Trial Operation

May 19 is China Tourism Day. On the same day, the much-anticipated Shizhushan cableway was put into trial operation, and many tourists “take first experience” to ride the cableway up the mountain, making it easy to start a trip to Shizhushan.

According to reports, the maximum running speed of Shizhushan cableway is 3.5m/s, the one-way time is only 3.7 minutes, and the one-way traffic volume per hour is 1120 people. The trial operation of Shizhushan cableway has effectively eased the passenger flow pressure during the peak tourist season in the scenic spot.

The reporter saw that the cableway was built according to the mountain situation, and the hanging boxes shuttled back and forth on the wire rope. Each hanging car was about 2m long and 1.7m wide, and the internal space was spacious and comfortable, which could accommodate up to 8 people. The design of the station building on the cableway is in orange tone, which is in harmony with the Shizhu Temple on the mountain. Sitting in the hanging box, climbing slowly along the mountain, the transparent design on all sides allows visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shizhu Mountain in 360 degrees, and have a panoramic view of Fuqing West Railway Station, Shizhu Lake, Carp Island, Linhai and other natural scenery.

It is understood that the rebuilt cableway is designed with a fully enclosed single-line circulating rope-releasing device and an eight-person hanging box. The horizontal distance of the line is 391.4m, the running speed is increased from the original 1.1m/s to 3.5m/s, and the one-way time is shortened to 3.7 minutes, which greatly saves tourists' visiting time.

The starting point of the cableway is opposite to Shizhushan bus station. Visitors can reach the cableway station by taking shuttle bus, bus or driving to the parking lot and then walking, and take the cableway up the mountain.
