Mother’s Day celebration

NCAAA (North Carolina Asian Americans Alliance) held a Mother’s Day celebration on May 12th which I volunteered for. The event brought together many families from all over to enjoy the beautiful weather, amazing food, and lighthearted fun games.  

I went to volunteer in the game section of the festival, where I helped run a fun game along with many other stalls and volunteers. The games that were being played ranged from fun running activities to small things such as paper airplanes, with each game bringing together families and communities to have fun with each other. I would volunteer for a game of “Heads Up!” that allowed both parents and little kids to enjoy a fun game of guessing. Overall, despite problems with the wind, it was an amazing experience to enjoy and I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to join in the fun the next time an event like this comes around.  

After an hour or so of volunteering, I was able to get food. The food was very good, with different foods ranging from Chinese dumplings to pizza and hot dogs. From everything that I saw, everyone was happy with the festival and the food. It was an amazing experience where I got to help others, enjoy nice food, and spend some time with friends.
